History of the WRFL/FDFL

The Western Region Football League turned seventy-five in 2006. Clubs and legends have come and gone, making names on both a local and international standard.

Amassing all the facts and figues, not to mention the stores of western suburbs footy is no mean feat, and while the WRFL continues to write its own history this compilation serves as a reminder of where it all began.

Like Father Like Son:

"They are the names that helped shaped the history of Australian Rules football: Whitten, Kennedy, Silvagni and Hudson. But these stars also bring another dimenson; or more simply, another generation."

Kevin Hillier's first published book is a collection of stories steeped in legend; the dynasties that have established themselves in Aussie Rules football. The anecdotes that the Darcys and Fletchers have to offer stretch beyond the footy field and into childhood memories, and the bond between father and son.
